The last few weeks before surgery can be very busy and we recommend to plan ahead so you can focus on your rehabilitation. Ask your surgeon for the Rose Institute for Joint Replacement Manual which will provide more detailed information on what to do in preparation for your surgery.
Primary Care Physician
You must see your physician within 30 days of your surgery. They will do a complete history and physical ensuring that you are healthy to undergo joint replacement surgery.
Surgery Date and Time
Your surgery date and time will need to be scheduled in advance.
Pre-Admission Hospital Appointment (PAT)
A nursing history and assessment is required for all surgeries. This can be scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance of your surgery through PAT at 303.320.2568.
Pre-Education Class
Please attend the pre-operative education class.Your surgeon's office will give you a schedule. The class will review your surgical procedure, your hospital stay and physical and occupational therapy exercise. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
Follow Up Appointment
After discharge from the hospital, your surgeon will require a follow up appointment usually within seven to ten days. Please have this appointment arranged with your surgeon's office before your surgery day.
Discharge Arrangements
Please have arrangements made with family or friends to help you return home.
